About Knotd

Tie a knot so you don't forget.

For the books you bought
and never opened.

Knotd takes the nonfiction you meant to read and hands it back in pieces you can finish — a short summary, a quick quiz, about fifteen minutes. No guilt, no 400-page commitment.

How it started

A nightstand stacked with books we never finished.

We bought books faster than we could read them. Audiobooks helped us get through more, but a week later the details had slipped. The problem was never finding more to read — it was holding onto any of it.

So we built the app we wished existed. One summary at a time. Roughly fifteen minutes. A short quiz at the end to make it stick. Streaks if that's your thing, a daily pick if choosing feels like work. Not clever — just enough structure to keep going.

Named after the oldest memory trick there is: tie a knot so you don't forget.

What we won't compromise on

Four things we keep coming back to.

01

Finishing beats collecting

A summary you can't remember is just noise. Every one ends with a two-minute quiz — not to grade you, but so the idea is still there next week.

02

Showing up should be easy

Streaks and a daily pick aren't growth hacks to us. They're a gentle nudge for the days motivation runs low. Miss one? The books wait.

03

The original author comes first

Summaries are written by people who actually read the book. We trim the length, never the argument — and we'll always point you to the full copy.

04

It can't feel like homework

A warm voice, plain screens, small wins you can feel. The day Knotd feels like a chore is the day we've gotten something wrong.
